It wasn’t the choices that were difficult.
It was the despair, deciding was too painful.
The open wound hidden from the mirror.
So returns the truth, a great blessing.
The truth hides from us some, for it isn’t new.
Truth already is, so we then decide once we see the truth again.

Journal Entry – Heather Mirassou
Our Love is like the Flow
of Water and Gravity.
Contributed by Lani and Heather Mirassou
Your happiness is desirable
Privacy and a bed at last
We can’t be trusted
Ain’t monogamy grand
We love with youthfulness
We love with vigor
We respect lovingly
We love wisely
We love with insight
Passion with purpose
I want to be known by you absolutely
The First Night – Contributed by Lani
I watch you undress
I stir inside
You glance at me
You can hear my heart cry
My heart soars
My mind goes away
I pull you close
All of my senses focus on you
All life is passionate
You accept me
For the first time
There is no separation
We meet and have become the center
Contributed by Lani
She calls for a poem
What is a greater gift given than
One on which is asked for
We ask for so little from our soul
The minds and bodies wanting’s
And needing’s mostly answered
The soul just the one thing asking
I rush to give her Love
Contributed by Lani
The night, my passion goes to her
Her flowering image fills my mind
Broken days left in the past
Lessons good gifts rightly kept
She receives me lovingly, the night
A Love Story – Lani and Heather Mirassou
We are glowing together
A smile that lasts day and night
Whether separate or apart
The heart crack is wide open
We are at the center
Exploring the edges of love
I am here
You are near
Love is grand with you
My grace
Your strength
Will carry us today and tomorrow
Love unfolding naturally
Acceptance draws us near
Unconditional love fulfills us
A love story is being written
Our future together is clear
Contributed by Chadd Henderson
In the forest we see many things
As we step along we hear many things
Our Aura enlarges
We see more, we hear more
We feel more
The cracking twig stabs us with fear
Yet we do not run
We have become above the animals
Fear, it flees from us as we Live
I Am Blue – Heather Mirassou
I am blue today
Like the cobalt sky
I reach for
The crisp air
So I can fly
I ride Clouds
That look like cotton balls
They litter the sky
I am untouchable
Just as she is
Micropoetry
A sprinkling morrow
Drinking from the trees
Earth is cooling
As the sun is shady
A noble mood
The simple quiet
Of daydreams
Micropoetry
The insanity is dead
All red about the sky
The insanity is dead
All red about the sky
So cold against the wind
This day shall flee
It is thirsty
It is wandering
Blurring at the end
Micropoetry
From childhood
I have not taken my sorrow
I could not awaken my heart
To joy at the same tone
All I loved
I loved alone
Journal Entry – Heather Mirassou
Fraught in the wild
I hang on a moonbeam.
Whiskey Town – Heather Mirassou
Disillusioned
Smoking cigarettes drunk at 3: a.m.
Spinning into nothingness
With whiskey drunks
Hookers walk the strange yellow streets
Women who fear intimacy
Or falling in love depraved
Depressed mannequins are consumed
Guilt and shame asunder
They dance in their tangerine slippers
Under a hopeless moonlight
Poet – Heather Mirassou
Monumental quill
Muses
Thee created
To write
Tongue-tied
I mend
Immersed
In poetry
Journal Entry – Heather Mirassou
I cannot silence my victor
To cry unlettered words
Journal Entry – Heather Mirassou
Falling deep
Wearing down
Desperate for energy
I am beaten
A broken harpstring
Journal Entry – Heather Mirassou
Forever look deeper
Find Your core
There is only one keeper
Yet always more
Journal Entry – Heather Mirassou
Universal nature
Mountains, winds and woods
Her throne
Fruitage – Heather Mirassou
The moonlight is topaz
A light that is insatiable
The fruitage an acidulous gold
Full to the brim
A quencher
Droplets alive
Of perfumed fruit
Eventide – Heather Mirassou
As the Earth hangs unstrung
The sun begins to weep
The wandering outline of the sky
Is slackened into a fountain
Fading into eventide
Nocturnal – Heather Mirassou
The forest is dark
by night it’s been swallowed
all things mysterious
all sounds hallowed.
Nature’s nocturnal
all life’s gathered here
although all movements are ghostly
there is nothing to fear out here.
Dark mythical arms
hide the moon
dawn will be arriving
but never too soon.
Crickets shrill
and interrupt the night air
owls cry and make harmony
nature is so romantic in the air.
Desire – Heather Mirassou
Wonder amorously
Blood brimming
Wilderness vessel
Every droplet wet
Chaste with soul
Hips become fierce
Thighs become fiery
Thrusting,pumping and springing
Chasms burst
Your glorious spring cascades
Melodies – Heather Mirassou
Embroidered ivory mountains
flowing tipped waterfalls
and melodious violet fields.
A thousand madrigals
and fragrant Myrtle groves.
The rivers and streams
sing sweet rapture
symphonies.
As the celestial hidden skies
hover, Venus, charms
a quivering goddess sighs.
Descent – Heather Mirassou
How
dare mutest thee
heaven’s sanctity.
Now them hast
deep spirits
quickening breath.
A vision childless
breaking virtues
angel’s slumber
in death.
Under The Moonlight – Heather Mirassou
The aqueous moonlight
floats from heaven
Sober hues and a tender wind
crisscross the sky
A hazel mist melts the faint dew
below the sleeping willow tree
The murmuring water lilies
awaken the egantine
While my white eyes are lulled
under a topaz canopy
Hiroshima Sky – Heather Mirassou
A bare rainbow
rains acid glass
from a Hiroshima sky
a thousand galaxies collide
in a demonic sky
where the innocent
dreadfully die
Delight – Heather Mirassou
I see naked droplets
of subtle honey bee.
Love released beyond
our summer lending trees.
Beyond a breeze
glow-worm light shines bright.
Love wheel delight
for the stars are giddy tonight.
Young Bliss – Heather Mirassou
Young bliss
a fragrant kiss.
Lips slumber
eyes agaze.
Arms aflame
damp passion.
Enmeshed in desire
bloomed within.
A Girl – Heather Mirassou
Her lips like ruby pearl
as soft as a silk sheet.
Her mouth like blush candy
as sweet as a cherry treat.
Her breasts like buttermilk
as delicious as whipped cream.
Her hair a lucent gold
like heaven’s falling leaves.
Her heart like a mirror to
her soul as to the sea.
I Am Wakeful – Heather Mirassou
In the wee hours
I am wakeful
When clouds are nesting
And the wind is thrusting
Carnival wildflowers glow
Twinkling in painted fields
A moon overflowed
And the rain begins to rouse
I rise in a dream
Where my spirits soar
I faintly kiss the stream
Summer – Heather Mirassou
August thickened under the bleached sun
Ravens swimming in tilting trees
While lust ripens in fruit rain
In A Dream – Heather Mirassou
In a dream I felt the cool white
His sweet madness
Among anchor water lilies
The willows were trembling
A nest of twilight kisses
Where the stars are shivering
Scented sweet and wild
From violet forests
Our arms intertwine
With beads of love
Grandfather – Heather Mirassou
His brows like bended bows with curly-q’s
His mustache like motorcycle handlebars
His eyes like green gin olives
His hair grey and wavy like ocean whitecaps
His hands immaculate and powerful like a surgeon’s fingers
His figure debonair and statuesque like Fred Astaire
His smile cautious but genuine like Buddha
His memory a journey like the wine that ran in his blood
Dedicated to my grandfather, Ed Mirassou
Repent – Heather Mirassou
So sexy before the shadows
Like silk against the light
Passion unbreakable
Gummed above the grave
Be watchful
There are ghosts under the mist
Shining awake
Saying goodbye
A phone ringing somewhere
For how long
Forget to go home
Wondering why
The vision has died
Repent
Kid’s Play – Heather Mirassou
“King of the Hill” you begin to play
You bump, bump, bump and sway
You see a perfect high landing spot
On an upside-down horse trough
You hop, jump and fly slowly through mid-air
Your small hooves landing easily on two pairs
You strut your stuff on the cold steel effortlessly
Showing your body strength and dancing dexterity
As you put on your crown and look up at the sky
You friends bow down from side-to-side
You are “king of the hill” showing off your expert dance
She winks at you way up top and begins her sexy prance
She pretends to hide but curiously you see her peek
You join her in a private game of hide-and-seek
She quickly finds you hiding in the prickly hay
You blush and nuzzle her chestnut face
Her body slender and strong topped with white angora fur
You rub her lovingly as she lets out a soft lulling magic purr
She continues to flirt winking her eyes with her head hung low
You excitedly whisper sweet-nothings she agrees you may be her beau
You rub your tickling head against her horns beaming with pride
You motion to her, let’s go play all seriousness aside
You join the other kids who are tryin to reach the sky
Together you dance and sway, jump, hop and fly
Revelation – Heather Mirassou
I am silver
I have no preconceptions
Unchanged by love or dislike
No cruelty only truth
She turns to the moon
That reflects her faithfully
Now I am like a lake
A mirror of revelation
It is her face that replaced the darkness
She has said goodbye to the young girl
In me, I see
An old woman
Rise
Starry Night – Heather Mirassou
Blue secret garden
Milk and honey glitter
Take Me Home – Heather Mirassou
Take me home mama
To a place I once belonged
Hold my hand steady
And sing to me a song
My face filled with tears
All my family is gone
Take me home mama
To a place I once belonged
Under the grapevine canopy
You taught me to be strong
The hundred year-old oak tree
Dances until dawn
Take me home mama
To a place I once belonged
Silence – Heather Mirassou
What is this quiet soul to do?
My voice and fingers are stuck like glue
The boredom overwhelming my senses very alive
For hours and hours I dare strive
The silence is drowning me inside
I stammer and suffer begging for words to come to my sight
Sometimes I wonder if I should just give up this fight
Oh hearts of hearts please break these ties
So my soul may once again take flight
So that I might not die
Artist’s Canvas – Heather Mirassou
The artist strokes his canvas
His hues and tints of beauty
The orator of his creation
The perfect task of impression
Like a beam of sunlight
Rainbows illuminate
Glory and splendor appear
His vision is revelation
Twilight Bliss – Heather Mirassou
She whispers to heaven
No rainbows dampened
Young souls tossing
Pearl birds
Planet full of color
A purple myriad
Rejoicing iridescence
Whisper tears
Rustic turquoise
Revived sunlight
Fountain of harvest
Seas hypnotize
Goodbye twilight bliss
Lavender Moonlight – Heather Mirassou
Like peach blossoms
As lovely as daffodils
In the purest hope of spring
My heart-strings follow each strum of a harp
Your voice a hypnotic melody
I leap like a cricket
at the whisper of your name
The evening floats
On a great parrot wing
I am comforted
With you by my side
I hold you tight
Like two twilight beams across the sky
In the listless evening
I listen for the last chime of the day
I lie with you
In lavender moonlight
Hand-in-hand we reach our destiny
For a mystical shower of love
Winter – Heather Mirassou
Angel Hair Pasta – Heather Mirassou
If I Were There – Heather Mirassou
Peaches and pears your delight
Divine roses a gift from your wife
Your favorite soups and stews
Lamb and veal cooked to and fro
In silence in your hammock
Hoping the sun melts the cancer away
If I were there
I would rub your brow and wet your lips
If I were there
I’d warm your sheets and fluff your pillows
If I were there
I would bring you home under the old oak tree
If I were there
I would fill your house with sunflowers
If I were there
I would sing sweet poetry melody
If I were there
I would lay next to you and comfort you
If I were there
I would read you prayers
If I were there
I would have said goodbye
My knight and shining armor
April Alive – Heather Mirassou
Nature Dawns – Heather Mirassou
Questionable Love – Heather Mirassou
From seedlings
Raw passion arrives
teardrops germinate
A questionable love
Free reign love’s geyser
Either uproot and scatter
Or stay and bloom
Childhood Blackness – Heather Mirassou
Storm Canvas – Heather Mirassou
Thunderstorms and lightening
Tempest roaring high
Tumult of a tropic sky
Impatient as the phantom wind
Magenta jealousy
The earth summons
Wanting whorls
Invisible love potion
Dare to walk in its wake
Hands in the air
Clean crisp air
I become transparent
My passion dims
The cyclone whispers
Grizzly arms athwart the sky
I am no longer a slave to society
The breeze of heaven blows
Upon my soul
Mad Love – Heather Mirassou
This was a free write in response to Arthur Rimbaud’s Ophelia. His poem is lovely and mine does not quite do it justice.
As snow does to a fire that runs
Blue white Ophelia floats
Mad with love as magnificent as snow
And among water lilies
Star which melts away
The wind kisses her breasts
Shivering willows
A nest of mad kisses
Curves of her back
In each soft corner
From violet forests
His sweet brow
On the seascape
The calm black water
Black moss embroidered
Her great veils rising
Why the goldenrod stars
Love her reflection madly
The rivers are a sail
Shadow flowers with bale
Scented twilight
A pearl sky
Moonshine Wind Song – Heather Mirassou
Barefoot and dirt-clod
I tip-toe across the yard
Avoiding mounds of stickers
Sharp rocks and weeds
The sky is full
Satin filled milk fluff
Moonshine
Full on me
Our tangerine trees
Rustle with low-lying
Bullfrogs
Ribbit, ribbit
A symphony of crickets sings
High pitched Beetle mania
I hear a distant “moo” from the cows
A latent “who” from the owls in the barn
The statuesque wind chimes
Is playing a cacophony of wind song
This life here engulfs me in it’s pure and rare beauty
I am one with the country, home again
Who Am I? – Heather Mirassou
It’s been quite
Some time
Since someone
Noticed
Do see me?
I am Here
My beautiful
Warm
Genuine smile
Smiling at
The world
Beside me
Don’t you
See my
Chiseled calves
And voluptuous
Thighs
A mile high
I may be over
Forty
But my Bosom
Swings
And Skips
To a
Funky beat
With a tip-toe
Skip, Hop & dance
That only I know
My eyes
Liquid blue
Eyes stare
At magic
In the
Air
My skin
Fair
Freckled
With
An Irish
Pigment
From my
Grandmother’s
Lair
My limbs
Covered from
Head to toe
With Wisps
Of Blonde hair
From my
Mother’s
Hair
Like my
And French
Forefather’s
My heart
Pumps
By Wine
My Blood
And
Endless
Passion for
Tradition
My fingertips
Reminiscent of
God’s great earth
The Goddess
Nature
Aglow
Laced with
Permanent
callused
From my
Writing pen
A kaleidoscope
Into my
Soul within
My voice
An accent
Slung with
Kindness
Compassion
And love
So if you
See me
Dancing
Down the
Street
On just
An ordinary
Day
Than
Stop to
Smell the
Roses
May the
Aroma
Sweet
And lulling
Pass your
Way
Making
Your day
Do a little
Hop, skip & jump
And feel
Freedom
In your
Steps
Make sure
To Smile
My way
Don’t forget
For I am
Here
Watching
Dancing
Waiting
For someone
To see me
Fear of Losing You – Heather Mirassou
FEAR OF LOSING YOU
No longer affectionate, attentive, thoughtful eyes;
instead, an expressionless, invisible, blank stare.
No longer strolling hand-in-hand, carelessly;
instead, walking moonbeams apart, drifting like clouds.
No longer drowning in passionate, lingering kisses;
instead, an obligatory, awkward, fleeting peck.
No longer two hearts bow-tied with strings;
instead, reclusive, lonely hearts, in a noose.
No longer dreaming of a lifetime together;
instead, an uncertain, somber, painful future.
No longer a confident, loving wife;
instead, a heartsick, lonely, aging woman,
Desperately afraid of losing you.
Heather Mirassou

Cockeral Waltz
Good morning rooster
How do you do?
It’s the crack of dawn
You cock-a-doodle-do
You sit on your perch pride fully and woo
Standing mighty and bold you call your brood for food
Sleek and graceful you do the cockerel waltz
Strutting vaudeville statuesque
Crowing to proclaim your territory
You stand protecting your roost
Busty and brave
Watching for predators coming your way
The alpha male
Your ear lobes and crown are blood-red like a bird of paradise
Your steel beak as strong as a saw
Your feather mane chestnut drapes over your back
Your breast fuchsia and emerald quill
Your silken tail an extended fan
You run free rein on my ranch
A thousand chickens roost in my barn
You rearrange my garden while pecking for nourishment
Eating up all the insects and brown recluses in my yard
In dust you and your flock bathe
You even watch over the hens eggs
Your calls distinct and powerful
When you are still and content sweet singing rings
You are friendly to humans
And can even be domesticated
Stay here Roo
We will protect you
